Misc
Some pointers for effectively and efficiently wasting time.
If you have some work to do, I would strongly advise you to come back here some other time. ツ
- Coding Horror: One of the best programming blogs out there IMHO.
- Martin Fowler's blog: See previous comment.
- XKCD: Where your thoughts are put into webcomic. Of course you already know it.
- Ph.D. Comic: Ever contemplated academic life? That’s all Ph.D. Comic does!
- /r/ProgrammingHumor: ∃x: person(x) ∧ ¬understandsProgHumor(x).
Browse at your own discretion. - Commit Strip: Niche webcomic focusing on daily development life, DevOps, and many relatable things.
- {turnoff}: Git, Linux, cloud development, programming languages, and much more. Everything crammed together in a slightly dark yet very amusing webcomic.
- Pitchfork: Good and biased music reviews. Nice entry point to discover new and old music artists and albums.
- Tiny Desk: NPR’s Tiny Desk concerts present what I personally consider some of the best unplugged concerts I’ve ever seen.
A pinch of “personal me” oddities
To catch a glimpse of my non-software-related side, order the picture below (not because of security or anything, just because I was bored, and maybe you are too).
Clicking/tapping on two pieces makes them swap.
Alternatively, you can also just look at the source code (I might have been too lazy to cypher the content...but come on, games are fun).

I legally possess two separate surnames. The one I less often use is Schneider (ʃnɑ́jdə, German for "tailor").
I am a certified first level FISAR sommelier. Accordingly, my drug of choice would be a good bottle of Pergole Torte or a similar wine.
I dig practicing sports. I played Capoeira regional for about 8 years, won some tennis tournaments, was in the national waterbasket winning team, and raced many regattas on the Elba island with my ILCA 7. Currently, I mostly enjoy boxing and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
I am a member of the Company of Florentine Historical Archers and Crossbowmen, located at the beautiful San Giorgio bastion, where I practice instinctive archery.
Avid boardgame player, I spent countless sessions playing (mostly euro) games such as Carcassonne, A Game of Thrones, Twilight Imperium, Terra Mystica, and Ascension (among others). I am also a member of some D&D parties.
Bookworm! I mostly dwell in reading sci-fi (e.g., the Broken Earth series), non-fiction (shout out to Popper and Chomsky), and way too many graphic novels (if you have never read anything by Mœbius, I think you should).
I like riding bicycles almost as much as I like fixing them.
Every now and then, I enjoy hitting twisties and exploring new places with a very patient Wee.
Flexitarian by diet, pastafarian by belief.

Website easter eggs
There are a total of 3 easter eggs on this website (and counting).
The first easter egg is graphical and hidden almost everywhere you’ll look (if your screen is big enough),
the second is magically linked beyond my publications,
the third and last one is hidden in plain sight, but only in the source home.
(Don’t think Cicada-like riddles, I like to regard myself as a simple person)
